The Dogs Trust Stray Survey 2016 has been released and despite good news that the overall number of stray dogs in the UK entering local authority kennels is down, the bad news is 12 dogs a day face destruction through no fault of their own.
In Yorkshire alone 638 (8%) stray dogs were put to sleep between April 2015 and March 2016 … these are the dogs we aim to save. Without rescues like Rain Rescue this figure would be sadly much much higher.
These dogs were once someones pet, probably curled up on a sofa and then one day for reasons unknown to them their worlds are turned upside down. For the ones who end up with a rescue space, they are the lucky ones. We strive to continue to be here long into the future to save as many as we can.
