Dogue De Bordeauxs Dogs in Rescue

Rocky is 14 months old pedigree Dogue de Bordeaux - who will be castrated prior to rehoming. He is living with a family in Stratford and is having to be rehomed due to personal circumstances which are no fault of Rocky.
He has lived with 2 poodles previously and is fine with cats (although can chase them if they run) and fine with our bunny rabbits. He is great on the lead, he understands 'heal' and 'sit' and absolutely loves fuss and affection. He actually settled in with us within 24 hours. He lays in his bed at night and when I am at work and has never had an 'accident' in the house. He is interested in other dogs and sniffs them etc. He actually lived with 2 poodles up until a week ago.
He can be nervous of some animals and people who are nervous oh him and for that he will not be rehomed with children under 14 and only to a home where they are used to GIANT breeds. He will not be re-homed into a busy household and will only go where the garden has a secure 6' fence - or where there are no neighbouring children who could come in contact with him. This is not because Rocky is aggressive or nasty in any way - this is because he is unsure of children and by him being scared - we need to ensure safety.About a month ago he had pancreatitis (the vet thinks from having stolen a burger off a bbq). He is recovering very fast and other than a shaved belly and some patches he is as fit as a fiddle. As with pancreatitis in all dogs and people it just means he has to be fed a low fat diet going forward. We have been feeding him Hills ID and mixing it with some chicken, pasta or rice. We feed him 4 times a day, spread over measurements of 200g each meal.
He is very entertaining, he is scared of the broom and the hoover and goes and sits in another room while we clean which is typical of dogues - unsure until they feel comfortable of many new things.
He is currently insured with Pet Plan Premium which can be carried forward to the new owner. His current foster home love him to bits - and say he is the most affectionate dog they have ever met. He is clean in the house and can be left for short periods of time.
Rocky's ideal new home will be:-
Someone with Dogue de Bordeaux experience - or certainly experience of other GIANT breeds
No children or only older visiting children Someone who has time to exercise and continue his training Someone who is not too houseproud - or who is happy to clear off slobber from floors, walls, clothes, hands ....... the list goes on. Could have a steady female dogue or other suitable friendly dog
A donation will be required for his adoption.
