DOGS THAT SHOULD BE BY YOUR FIRESIDE

Often older dogs and cats get into rescue, because their long loving owners have died or gone into a home, and not made any provision for them. Everyone will come in and sort out the expensive china and the property - not everyone wants the dog or cat that was your best friend.  It breaks our hearts to see the old ones in cages. Confused, lonely and frightened. We try to get them out into foster homes and are always looking for good homes to look after older pets.

This poor older dog could really do with some TLC. He has been found with painful and irritating skin and ear problems that require time and attention to heal, something easily preventable had he had the care every dog needs. He is quite nervous of his new surroundings but has been gentle and obliging with the kennel staff. It is not known how he is with other dogs as yet. Please he really does need somewhere warm and comfortable to be, kennels isn’t the place for any dog but it' really is awful for older dogs.

German Shepherd Rescue is run entirely by unpaid volunteers who are involved because of their love for the breed. We have been involved in GSD rescue for many years, we are very experienced with the breed and have built up an excellent reputation for helping these wonderful dogs.

The rescue has grown enormously and through our website we now help many rescues all over the UK rehome GSD's and other large breeds . Unfortunately the more successful you are, it seems the more people will endeavour to undermine the good work that you do.

Rescue is hard and at times very stressful but we remain focused on what we do best - for the sake of all those GSD's out there that need our help. We thank everyone for their continued support for what we do.
