HAPPY ENDINGS - NEW BEGINNINGS
HUNNY

This is Hunny exploring the long grass on a walk beside the canal which is at the end of our road and is her regular walking spot!
Hunny is doing so well and has really turned a corner again in the past few weeks. The improvement she has shown in her aggression towards people is fantastic. It is actually quite a pleasure walking her now! We are still working with the behaviourist and for a while we increased the sessions to two a week and that is what seems to have made a difference. We are back down to one per week now just to keep the momentum going really as we feel pretty confident that we know how to deal with any situation that arises.

We can now walk passed people on the street without Hunny giving them a second glance and she even ignores bicycles, prams etc which before were a real issue. There is also significant improvement with people coming to the house as well. In the past few weeks we have had visitors who Hunny hasn't met before. We took her out onto the drive on her lead to bring them into the house, she barked at them and growled a little but that soon stopped when they sat on the sofa. Within five minutes of them sitting down Hunny had gone over for a sniff and taken a treat from them, within another five minutes she was trying to climb on their laps for a cuddle! This has happened on three separate occasions with three completely different lots of people so it wasn't just a lucky day!

We still have issues with other dogs. If they aren't moving Hunny will usually ignore them but if they are walking towards us, in front of us or behind us she will often growl, bark and lunge in their general direction but she now does this whilst wagging her tail odd! I really think she just needs exposure to other dogs, I think this will be the only way she learns to at the very least ignore them.. I am planning on taking her to Sheffield Charity Dog show next week as a spectator so she can watch at a distance how other dogs should interact.
Although Hunny hasn't significantly improved in this area, it is not as bad as it was before because I am better equipped to deal with situations, I am more confident that I can handle it so I am more relaxed about it.

Hunny with her bone treat - she didn't quite know what to do with it!

Playing in her paddling pool, her favourite past time in the hot weather. She spends hours dropping her toys in then jumping in and throwing them all out again!
