Hi everyone
I have never done an appeal like this before, and I am sure you have all seen lots of appeals for help - but I just felt that the little dog Pumpkin deserved us all to be thinking about him - and others like him. Please look at the attached poster Pumpkin97.doc to see little Pumpkin.
This little boy - just a few months old, had been in the pound when one of our volunteers saw him shivering in his cold wet bed. Had he had any vet treatment? I don't know - I doubt it. He didn't have a coat on, he is full of worms, his skin is crawling with fleas and mange - and he had given up the will to live.
Pumpkin is just one of many dogs that have been thrown away by our society. However, he is one of the ones that the general public do not normally get to see - not many people wander around the stray kennels - and so - he like many others - will think nobody cares.
As any one who knows us at Rain Rescue - know we are a tiny tiny rescue group. Made up of just a few volunteers - but we do manage to do a fair amount of help to the dogs and cats that we find that are in a crisis situation.
Pumpkin certainly was in crisis.
He is now in a kennel - I know not the best place for him to be - but he is under a heat lamp and has a coat on and has food in his belly. He will now get to see a vet, and he will receive care and treatment. Once he is on the road to recovery - we will look for a foster home, and then a life long home - where he will never be neglected again.
This appeal is to ask you to help us by sending a donation to help us to continue helping dogs like Pumpkin. Our funds are always low - we always need money for vet fees or transport or boarding costs. We need to keep going - so at least someone is there - to them them that we do care.
Please put Pumpkin's poster up where people may see it and help him by donating to us. Donations can be made easily by our website or sending us a cheque. We are a registered charity, and can also claim gift aid on any donations.

Rain's website is designed for rescued dogs needing new homes, many of them pound dogs, who would otherwise be destroyed. All the dogs on this website are with individual Rescue
Centre's if you are interested in re-homing a particular dog you need to contact the appropriate Rescue direct. Any money donated to Rain is used to help rescue's and individual's who save lives and care for homeless animals.
