Kato is being cared for by TOWER HILL STABLES

4/8/08 - Kato has now been in the vets for 4 days - he is still in a critical condition. Rain Rescue has just donated £250 towards his care. However, it will be much more than this. Please if you can donate any money to help pay for his treatment - it can be sent on now.

31/7/08 It is with very sad news that we have to tell you though that today the 31st July - Kato had a huge fit this morning.  He had another 2 on his way to the vets and is in a very bad way.  He is on medication from the vets to try to stabalise him - and our thoughts are with Fiona at her sanctuary.

We are hoping to raise enough funds to allow her to know she can pay for any of his treatment - its to be hope they can get this big guy sorted.  He is so gorgeous and friendly and has made lots of friends - surely - life won't be too cruel and take him away - now that he has just found true friends and happiness?????

29/7/08 The fantastic American Bulldog who was dumped in the pound to find his fate.  Who on earth would take on a big guy like this when there are loads of American Bulldogs being dumped all over the place because people can't cope with them, regardless of how good they were.

The girls at the kennels said he was just such a fantastic temperament - he really deserved to be in a home.

Trudie from The Doris Banham Sanctuary was asked if she could help - we don't have any kennels free where we can put anything during July and August - so we couldn't take him in.  The Doris Banham found a place at a lovely rescue centre down south with a friend called Fiona.  Now we had to get him transported down there.  A volunteer from Sheffield offered to drive him to Essex - and so arrangements were made.

The Doris Banham paid for all the fuel to transport him there, and the driver come back - nearly £75.00

Fiona had him checked by her vet as he had been reported as collapsing in the kennels.  He got a clean bill of health for that, and they are waiting to make sure nothing else happens to him.  However, he had a bad skin condition which needed a fair amount of treatment.  Then - fraid he had to have his dignity done over - and off with his bits.  Fiona was left with a £250 bill.

As they already have huge bills at their sanctuary - this was a bill they didn't expect and they wrote and asked if Rain Rescue could help towards any of the costs.

So - we are fundraising to pay for Kato to be transported down to his safe haven, and to have his vet treatment performed - ensuring he won't be producing any more unwanted American Bulldogs.

If you can help in any way - great or small - we are really always grateful.

Kato has a potential new home to go to - and will soon be in there.  We wish him all the luck in the world, and Thank Trudie and Fiona for helping out one of the Sheffield pound dogs.
