I wish I could have told you in words you could understand
I wanted you to stay with me this wasn't what I planned
I lost my special friend today, one I can't replace
I'm looking at an empty bed but I still see her face
I see the endless energy those sparkling big brown eyes
Not my tired and fragile friend that had to say goodbye
Bonnie was a special dog that always gave her best
But those sad brown eyes told me it was time for her to rest
So with one more kiss on her beloved head
I told my Bonnie goodbye.............

The day i went to Yorkshire how my heart bled
I found you sitting in a dirty old shed
An old piece of sackcloth that was your bed
Skinny and scared head hanging low

You had the biggest brown eyes

It did'nt take long to gain your trust
I think you knew you were safe with us
