Back to the pound again
As we took 4 dogs in at the beginning of the week, they are all nicely getting settled in – receive their vet treatment and assessed. As the pounds are so full – we are going back again today to get some more out too – we saw a lovely little white and cream staffy girl with the wiggliest tail – she will come home if she’s still there.
We have just had a call to help a lady who is on chemotherapy treatment and can’t come home with the dog still in the house – they have got to get rid of the dog – it is of course – a staffy.
A lovely little girl very friendly – done no wrong – just that the ladies’ immune system is so weak Weston Park do not recommend that she comes home whilst she is there. So whilst struggling under this terrible cancer – she is facing with having her dog put to sleep. Rain Rescue have said they will have the little dog – the last thing this lady wants is to know that has happened too.
Sadly it means us having to leave one of the dogs in the dog pound in her place – but what else can we do. What would happen if little rescues weren’t there – to help in cases like this?
How long will we be able to be here for to do things like this, under the constant pressure of fundraising to give us money to keep the dogs in our care? For this little one – at least we are here today.
Pictures to follow when she arrives.
