Deaf Jeff finds a fabulous new home
The fabulous Jeff goes to a new home. He will be travelling on the bus all over the place, and has been a really good boy. Sadly, he’s just come down with kennel cough and is really poorly – but should hopefully come through it ok – being in a home with medication and love and affection.
Poor little Honey went down with kennel cough yesterday. Her new mum phoned to say that she couldn’t look after her or pay the vet bill and so she wasn’t on medication. Honey already has a heart murmur - and we were distraught to think that the little girl may not survive kennel cough, with the heart murmur without anti-biotics. We went straight up back to collect her, and the Rain Rescue volunteers spring into action. Mrs Nix took her over to Uncle Clive, where last night she was on medication and will now be monitored.
Owners have to realise, dogs cost money – and if they need veterinary treatment – they need it and it has to be paid for.
Honey will be back up for adoption once she’s better and hopefully we will find the right home next time. Please, if you are thinking of taking on a dog or a cat – think about how much things will cost – and what resources you have to look after them – if they go poorly.
We have a load of cat food being delivered today. Huge thanks to Purina – who have donated the food to us, at a very low cost. We will be helping lots of the small rescues around us with this food – not just Rain Rescue.
This food will help
Cats in Need
Cat Abuse Treatment Society
Sheila ‘s at Doncaster
Mayflower Sanctury
Millhouse Animal Sanctuary
All rescues who help with the poor cats dumped on the street.
Donations to go towards paying for this food – to feed the hundreds of mums and kittens we are all helping – would be appreciated please.
