Night Night Mr. Ben

Today the 19th June, we remember the lovely BEN – a perfect Gentleman – who we found in a cold pound in January.  An old man, who had stopped complaining any more, and was curled up with his head low under his legs.  We took him out, but sadly on his health check, we found he had a growth.  We had many check ups on him to see what we could do – and the vets decided it wasn’t right to remove it.  He was nearly 13 years old, and the growth too knitted in there for him.

Ben spent a few weeks in kennels before Auntie Claire took him home and under her wing – he learnt how to find the food cupboards – and was a great member of the family.

Somehow, a perfect mum and dad came along and just fell in love with this old gentleman.  Such a lovely couple, knowing that they wouldn’t have long with the old guy – they still gave him a perfect home and lots of love.  Ben thoroughly enjoyed his new home, and his long walks and all his lovely toys.  He had probably the best few months of his life.

Sadly over the last week or so, Ben had started to show proper signs of being poorly and yesterday – his mum and dad kissed him quietly and said their farewells.  Warm and loved he passed over to Rainbow bridge and was last seen – running with strong healthy legs – into the distance.

Rain Rescue and all our friends – were happy to have helped you Ben, we will try to help more of your friends whilst ever we can too – just like you – they will be loved once we can help them.  Donations from people like our friends – help us to take on dogs like Ben and pay for his vet fees – that his new mum and dad took on, once they took him home.
