Rain Rescue – SAVED 8 dog from the pounds in just 2 days
Its been really busy yet again over the last few days. We have taken on 4 dogs of our own, and managed to get another 4 off into rescues. As you can guess – it all takes time and money to be able to sort it all out – lots of organising, telephoning and sorting – but in the end its worth it.
If people only knew how hard our few volunteers worked, they would never believe it. The rescue mobile never stops ringing with people giving their dogs away, reporting cats and kittens in their gardens, wanting us to help with so many problems. We try our best to help – but there are only 4 of us and we just can’t stretch that far to do what everyone wants. We are always grateful for the help our volunteers do offer when asked, but we would always appreciate good volunteers to come on board, and help with the main backbone of the work. Its just too hard for us all the time.
This week we got four lovely dogs out of the pound that were brought into Rain Rescue – all that would or could have very nearly have been put to sleep – just because of the lack of kennel space. What a waste.
Read the story of little Bobby – who was found out laying on a grave – who’s grave was it, how long had he been there, what had he lost – he’s so very sad. Its heartbreaking to feel their pain and see their sad eyes – the only reward we get is seeing them come round and trust people again – to see them play in the field with a ball and roll in the damp fresh grass – then as they drive off to a new home that we find for them – we smile and think – surely its got to all be worth it – hasn’t it?
Please donate – just a few pound all adds up to help us keep going and saving more dogs and cats lives. Use the DONATE facility at the top of this page or think about setting up a standing order to us – they are our lifeline and help us guarantee to have fuel and pay vet fees and our bills.
We had pictures back of a lovely little dog that was rescued and ended up being fostered by Mr & Mrs Nix – pictures like this make us keep on trying for the dogs that have nobody else but us.
Little Pippin – looking settled – Rain Rescue – happy to have saved your life.
