Oxbow keep homeless pooches warm over winter months

Local animal rescue charity, Rain Rescue have been given a generous donation of a lifetime supply of coal for their fire by Hull based fuel company Oxbow Coal Ltd.

Mark Robinson, Commercial Manager said “We at Oxbow Coal Ltd are delighted to be associated with Rain Rescue and are proud of the outstanding work they do. Having visited the premises myself, the facilities, attitude and hard work of the team really stood out to us and only served to further strengthen our desire to support this charity ongoing with all of their solid fuel needs. Initially we had looked at a one off solid fuel donation, but such was the dedication that we saw, we have agreed to extend this for as long as they need us.

Lauren Sanderson, Rain Rescue’s deputy manager, said: “We are over the moon to receive such fabulous support from Oxbow – our indoor kennel block relies solely on heat from our coal fire. This donation gives us a huge relief on our heating costs over the cold winter months.”

Over the last year Rain Rescue has cared for over 470 abandoned and neglected dogs and cats, taking in those most vulnerable like cats and kittens abandoned on the streets and dogs due to be put to sleep in the local authority stray kennels.
