PENNY

When we had to have our staffy cross Taz put to sleep when she was 13 and had lung tumours, mum who is 81 was devastated, she was so upset at losing her constant companion, she thought she would never find another like her.
Taz had been a rescue dog we had found roaming the streets 19 years before, her behaviour was quite bad to start with and we could hardly ever bring her around to my house, 5 min walk from mums because she would have attacked the cats and any other small furry creature she might have come across!
So when looking for another companion dog we wanted one that would be well behaved with an elderly lady and good with cats.

We looked at about 40 dogs in different rescue homes, to no avail, but as soon as I found rain rescue and saw and read the description of Penny we felt sure she was the one. And after meeting her we KNEW she was.

Penny is the BEST DOG IN THE (our) WORLD, she is just the sweetest, kind natured love-able dog you could wish to meet, she now spends her day living with mum, but I go around twice a day, and morning she walks back with me to our place and has a run and ball game in our orchard, the cats even join in and although she chases them -when they have enough they stand their ground and she comes howling and hiding behind me, like The big baby she is! then its back to mums for hugs and kisses sat together on the settee watching the telly. until I return at night after work for our next walk and fun and games.

Penny also has Elaine our other friend who takes her around to their house, as Penny visits Denis, her husband who is in ill health, and she cheers him up too!
We couldn't have found a better dog if we wrote to god himself and asked! She came at the right time for all of us, my elderly mum, myself and Elaine and her sick husband.
So THANK YOU Jacquie, and RAIN RESCUE you will never know how much it has meant to us to own such an brilliant dog! |
