Albert is a lovely old chap who has sadly found his way to us after being picked up straying by the dog warden. Who knows why this older chap has ended up there, but it is so sad to think of him alone in his twilight years. Albert is a character- he has minimal vision, and his hearing isn’t great, but when he knows where he is and feels safe, he has a huge personality!
He enjoys a steady potter, and what he lacks in sight, he definitely makes up for in his sense of smell- he never misses a treat, and is quite adept at searching pockets to ensure he doesn’t miss a crumb! Albert does get on OK with other dogs, but due to his sight problems can be a little worried on initial meeting. He is also looking for a super tolerant dog(s) as he hasn’t quite mastered ‘echo-location’ just yet so does have the occasional collision when he is on route to somewhere interesting and can’t always see the dog on the other end of the treat he is after!
Albert is obviously not looking to run a marathon, or climb a mountain these days, but he still deserves to be loved, cosy and happy in a home. He would prefer a quieter, settled environment without much hustle and bustle and where any children are older and respectful of his need for space and a quiet life. Have you got the home that Albert is craving?
SUITABLE WITH DOGS – Possibly, but would need a very tolerant dog who doesn’t mind sharing space and resources
SUITABLE WITH CATS – Unknown, but may be OK with careful monitoring
SUITABLE WITH CHILDREN – Older children (if any) preferred. Older chap who is seeking a quieter life.
Albert has an adoption fee of £100 which includes health check, vaccinations, microchipping, flea and worming, collar, lead, and ID tag as well as 4 weeks free PetPlan Insurance.
