Claude – Young St Bernard

Description

This lovely young boy has finally found a fabulous new home, with a mum and dad that have always known the breed.  Eventually he’s found someone who knows he’s a giant and it seems whoever first bought him, didn’t give him training and rules that these guys need.  We have found him such fun and a great dog and its fab to be able to have found him a wonderful new home for life.  Have a great home Claude.

Claude is only  a young boy of around 10 months but as with all St Bernards he is one big lad and still growing.

As most pups do Claude loves to run around our field and let off some steam. He has bundles of energy and enjoys his walks after which he lays down for a good long snooze.

He is a good lad who is eager to please and is responding well to his training here at Rain. He is learning to walk well on a DogMatic head collar and we would advise his new owners to carry this on.

Claude has come from a home where he has had no rules so his new owner must be someone who knows his breed and is willing to show him his rights and wrongs. Claude shows food aggression to other dogs and can be dominant to get his own way.  At the moment this is just challenging, but if handled wrongly, he could easily get too big for his boots and be a massive problem in the wrong hands. We are looking for a new owner that is used to challenging behaviour in male Giant dogs, preferably St. Bernard experience. A very knowledgable home is sought – he’s not a bad dog, but one that needs correct guidance and rules and someone who has an authoritative attitude to dogs.

Giant dogs cannot be neutered until at least 15 months old.  He hasn’t been neutered and as yet, and its under veterinary guidance when safe to do so.  Claude will be neutered as soon as it is safe to do so.

Claude has a rehoming fee of £350.00, however the home is more important than the rehoming fee but the new owner must be able to afford any veterinary fees and food that these giant breeds come with.
