Mouse – Rehomed Affenpinscher Type

Mouse is approximately 3 – 5 years old.  He weighs just over 2.5kg – a small dog with a big personality!

Mouse is not a pedigree Affenpinscher, however, he shares many Affenpinscher  personality traits.  Currently living in a foster home in Rotherham with 5 chihuahuas and 6 cats.   He has recently been castrated and has testicles that were way up into his body they hadn’t dropped which could also be part of the reason he has a problem personality – but not totally the reason.  This may help him also to get back on the straight and narrow.

This little boy has had a very rough start in life.  He’s not one for cuddles and nor is he a lap dog – he is looking for someone where he can do his own thing.   He isn’t into being fussed, nor being picked up.  He is happy around the company of other dogs and ignores the cats.

He will allow you to lift him up to be on the sofa, but that’s all – all on his own terms.

Obviously he is not to be rehomed into a home that has children, visiting children or one that doesn’t understand the nature of traumatised dog and especially traumatised terriers.  He has been beaten.  A lot of things frighten him and he will bite if provoked or cornered.  However he isn’t a bad dog.  Since coming into Rain Rescue’s care, he has come on in leaps and bounds. He no longer bites, and is happy to just be there.  With time and if we find the right home, he will learn to trust and accept that not all people are horrible.

His foster mum Lu and her crew are helping him to do just that.  He has a lot of fans, but certainly needs someone who will help him to ‘get there’.

Mouse is on our Special Rehoming Package and has a rehoming fee of £100.00
