It is with great sadness that we have to tell you that today we had to have our lovely Pebbles put to sleep.
We are all devastated and sorrowful that this happened as she was a dog that in a different time and a different place, this may not have been her fate. Pebbles was left in a boarding kennels by her own who we believe had a crisis of their own. The stress that she endured meant that she was always forever anxious and forever ‘looking for someone’. Never settling no matter where she was – in a home, in the office, on a walk, in the field – Pebbles was stressed.
Pebbles developed a cough a couple of months ago and underwent multiple vet trips to try to get to the bottom of it and ease her discomfort. Nothing stopped it nor gave her reprieve. She coughed constantly. We asked the vets to do an X-ray today as Linda was adamant she had a problem in her Trachea, her fears proved to be 100%. In addition, she had a severely enlarged heart and was very poorly.
Under the vets guidance and due to the level of stress and discomfort that Pebbles was already experiencing – jointly we all decided it was unfair to keep her going through this nightmare she was living and she was put out of her misery this morning.
Her ashes will be coming home soon to go into our ‘Never Forgotten Garden’ where sadly too many leave us heartbroken.
A terrible day, that has left us all very sad to see her empty kennel but at least we know that this lovely girl is not worrying anymore and hopefully floating around with friends ‘over that bridge’.
Sorry we couldn’t help you more Pebbles, you was a great older lady.
