Do you all remember the gentleman boxer TOMMY that Rain Rescue squeezed in under very sad circumstances when his loving owner passed away?
After a very stressful few weeks and a few hiccups, a wonderful positive couple saw and fell in love with Tommy – their determination to help him knew no bounds and last night he went on his first sleep over.
A phone call early this morning said the night has gone well – and he’s been a dream. Good long walks, a settled other dog and a wonderful new pair of owners means that hopefully this older gent who has terrible separation anxiety and fear of being alone – has hopefully found his home at last.
We still have things to do – between us, we will build him an outside and gradually build up the time he can cope being on his own, (with his new calm big brother beside him obviously) so that if they do need to pop out they can do just for a short while.
Owners like this restore my faith in people – its going to be a great day. We will get better pics of him at home to follow.
Due to the tragic loss of his owner Tommy is looking for a new home.
Tommy is a wonderful natured fabulous Pedigree Boxer. He is very loving and simply wonderful. Sadly, he suffers from separation anxiety and this means that he cannot be left alone at all. Not for half an hour because he panics. We know this maybe a problem for some owners and we know it could be a problem for many but we think that there maybe someone out there – maybe where one of the family have to stay at home themselves for physical or mental reasons and who would love to have a new friend. Tommy does still need to be exercised though but he won’t need that much but he so loves a good walk.
We are not looking for any rehoming fee for Tommy – we simply want him in a home where he will truly settle for the rest of his days. He was so loved by his family and his owner and its the family’s hopes and dreams that we can find this home together. Surely we can.
Tommy is on medication to help to calm him and we feel that we can do more with this with maybe alternative medicine and massage techniques and this is something that will hopefully help him through his panics. When he is with you he’s the most brilliant of dogs. In kennels we have him in one of our huge kennels that has an outside run and so it maybe possible that this could be looked into in a future home and he may also be better if he had a doggy female friend to share his life with.
At the moment Tommy is un-neutered but this will be done as soon as possible.
