Just a month ago, this gorgeous elderly cat was crouched over in agony thrown out on a building site. A mouth full of rotten teeth, her coat riddled in fleas, and starving and cold. A kind lad found her and he and his mum started phoning round trying to find a rescue space that could help her. All of them were full, but when we heard that she had nobody else, we shuffled everything round and found her a space.
We called her Una – and this sad old girl went into her pen and didn’t make a sound, wouldn’t eat anything, hardly drank and kept her eyes shut – shutting out the cold and the pain.
A vet trip later, and a mouth full or rotten teeth removed plus anti-biotic, worming tablets, flea treatment and THRIVE special tins of food – Una started to come round.
Yesterday, Linda and I were cleaning out the pens whilst Una came and had a good wander all around with us. A perfectly healthy, happy older girl who thankfully can now put her worries and cares behind her.
One of our special supporters heard about this lovely older girl in need of a special home and today – Una’s dreams have come true.
Una has gone home.
Huge Huge thanks to all our Friends and followers and supporters, to our donors and our helpers, our staff and our volunteers.
Big pat on the back. Its not the big things in life that makes Rain Rescue special – its the little ones.
Una is a special little one and we should all be proud we helped her.
