PRESS RELEASE : Give Staffies A Chance

Give Staffies a Chance

South Yorkshire animal charity Rain Rescue is appealing for potential adopters to give a Staffordshire Bull Terrier a chance.

‘We have just had one of our busiest weekends ever in terms of adoptions with a total of seven dogs finding their forever homes. For a small charity like us that’s amazing, we were so pleased. But then I walked back around our kennels and looked into the eyes of all the Staffies that were left behind. It was heartbreaking to see so many fantastic dogs overlooked because of their breed.’ say Deputy Charity Manager, Lauren Sanderson.

There are total of 9 Staffordshire Bull Terriers in the care of Rain Rescue right now all hoping to find their new families soon.

Lauren goes on to say ‘We have some real success stories with our Staffies too, working closely with our adopters to match the right dog to the right family. Sometimes they may have not considered a Staffie before but when they get to know them, they realise they were perfect for them.’

Mr Pierpoint, adopted a Staffie from Rain Rescue in 2014 and said ‘Before I adopted Autumn a Staffordshire Bull Terrier was not my preferred choice but after looking through at all the rehoming sites and being told in particular about Rain Rescue we decided to meet Autumn, and all I can say is what a fantastic decision we made to adopt her. All Autumn wants to do is play with toys lay on your lap and be cuddled. I would say to anyone to give a SBT a chance.’

In the last 12 months the charity has found homes for over 45 Staffordshire Bull Terriers and crosses and it hopes to continue improve on it’s success.
