Sheffield Kennels are in urgent need of the
Hard plastic dog beds.
Blankets/warm bedding.
Newspapers.
Hard rubber toys.
Only hard plastic beds are suitable others sorts get chewed, please do not take - things with hundreds of polystyrene balls in (nightmare), feathers (ie duvets or pillows), or anything dirty or torn.
Other than that - towels, blankets, throws, man made duvets - a big plea for collars and leads - and newspapers - will always be needed.If you have anything you can donate please get in touch on the following number PHONE 0114 293 0362

This girl was so good while having her picture taken. A lovely young dog who needs a home where she will receive plenty of exercise and an owner willing to help her develop her training. She is very playful and so excitable. She seems ok with other dogs at the moment she just wants to engage them in play which is a positive sign.

A nice little dog looking for a new home. He really is a cute little chappy.
He’s still quite giddy about new and exciting things but it is thought he would settle fairly quickly and become calmer in a new home. He has been ok with other dogs so with careful introduction he may well fit into an existing pack.

He is a lovely Staffy and uncharacteristically very calm he really is a little joy to be around. He sat so well for his photo and was so willing. He does not appear fazed by other dogs and just loves people. He may well get on with a quiet bitch if the right introductions

Meet Piglet!!!! What a little gem he really is the most scrumptious little dog. He unfortunately has returned to the pound, it seems his new owner did not quite realise what having a puppy is like, so he is now looking for a new home.
He is a lovely friendly, playful little chap. He needs a home where he will have someone about most of the day while he learns good manners and how to behave.

Another American bull dog cross and much the same applies to this dog as the one above. He is a large dog and will need someone with experience of big bull breeds to own him. He will need a home without young children due to his size and age. He seems like a lovely dog and for the right person could make a great addition to the family.

I think I fell for this lad he was so well behaved and not what I expected. He has a lovely kind face and seems to have a nature to match. He really likes people but is not so good with other dogs. He would benefit from castration and this may well help with his socialisation. He would be best placed in an experienced home without young children due to his size.

He will behave in a dominant manner if he is not handled properly.

This plump little lass has a few problems and needs someone who is willing to help her get the care she needs. She has a growth on the back of her leg that dangles down, because of this she has been grabbing at it making the area sore. It is however thought that a simple operation could be carried out to remove the lump. She also has a stump rather than a tail and has obviously been in the wars. She is nice and friendly though.

The picture does not do this little lass justice. She looks very nervy but it is daunting having strangers taking your picture and pulling you about so you can’t blame her. She is however a nice friendly little dog, it is thought she will come out of her shell once she is settled in a nice quiet home.
She does have an interesting feature though. One of her ears is missing so goodness knows what has happened to her. She really does deserve another chance.

These 2 have come into the pound together and are no longer wanted by their previous owner. The staff have no idea why as they are a beautiful bonded pair
and obviously adore one another. It would be great if they could find a home together as it would be a real shame to split them up. The male seems a bit more confident than the female but when together they are both lovely. They are great with people. They would
love a home with walks, fun and plenty of time to play with one another.

Meet Sammy ‘Thud’ !!! A lovely playful cross breed who must have some collie or retriever in there somewhere. His grey muzzle makes him look older than he is and he certainly has a young outlook on life. He appears to be a nice all round dog who would like nothing more than a game of catch in the garden or at the park each night.

9c – female cat, 2yrs old.
This little lady is the mother of the ginger and black kittens who have recently been rehomed via the pound. She is beautiful, incredibly loving and likes nothing better than being cradled and having her tummy stroked like in the picture. She needs a home with someone who has plenty of time for her as she does love attention. She is a real favourite with the staff at the pound.

This little female cat is 3-4 months old and adorable. She is really friendly and talks to you. She does not mind shouting out when she is ready for some love.
15C cat called Tigger male. New in not a lot known about him.

Dogs picked up by the Sheffield Council will be held for 7 days. As are any lost dog. After that 7 days - they are put up for rehoming. Sheffield Council try their hardest to find homes for the dogs in their care. Lots of lovely dogs - desperately needing homes. PLEASE give them a chance and go and see them. Usually there is no more wrong with them than being lost - or in the wrong home previously.
Phone the following number to arrange an appointment to view these dogs. 0114 293 0362 FOR AN APPOINTMENT. These dogs are nothing to do with the SHEFFIELD RSPCA and so appointments or questions cannot be directed at them. The Sheffield RSPCA do not deal with stray dogs.
Drive along Corporation Street, past the Shakespeare pub and turn left into Spring Road (cos that what it says on the end of it) BEFORE the Dulux paint shop.
THE BUILDING IS BRIGHT BLUE AND HAS PAINTED MURAL PICS ALL OVER IT,
Park your car on the road outside the Shakespeare Pub, and walk down. When you see a new brick wall straight in front of you turn right in front of the railings and you will see a blue wooden door. Ring the bell at the time you have an appointment.
CANINE SWIMATHON AND FUN DAY 2008
In aid of Support Dogs we are hosting a Canine Swimathon and Fun day Sunday 14th September 2008. The event will be held at Aquavet in association with Moscar Kennels and Cattery. The swimathon will splash off from 8am all the way through to 8pm with certificates and prizes for all dogs involved. The swimathon will run from 8am - 8pm with the fun day 10am - 4pm.
The swimathon will be split into 15 minute sessions throughout the day e.g 8am, 8:15, 8:30 etc. Some dogs will swim for 15 minutes so will be sponsored for this time but others who are stronger swimmers will swim for a double block of 3 If you would like your dog to take part please contact us (sponsorship forms are available to download http://www.aquavet.co.uk/downloads/Swimathon%202008%20Sponsorship%20Form.pdf). The Fun Day will include a variety of stalls and games plus free veterinary checks.
