Darcy the dalmation arrived with us just over a week ago, she was timid and had no idea why she had ended up in kennels. We struggled just to get her lead on to take her out of the pound but once she arrived here at Rain she ran around our field and seemed much happier, however her health took a turn for the worse just a day later.
Darcy was desperately and seriously poorly in the vets on drips. She still managed to lift her eyes to the vets, and sometimes gave a wag of her tail. When to stop treatment, where to draw the line – the decisions are always hard. We could only wait and see overnight to see if she had the strength to carry on and pull through.
Sadly we lost the fight yesterday to bring Darcy back to us. She was put to sleep this afternoon out of her horrific pain and loss of blood. All at the kennels and the vets have really tried to keep her with us but the virus she got in the end whisked her life from us. It’s knocked us all for a six and we are having a little quiet time to recover from her passing
Rip Darcy. Sorry we were too late but many a tear has been shed after you left.
Darcy’s vet bill is over £2000 a huge weight on our small rescue. Please if you can spare anything at all please donate. You can also donate by text ‘DOGS26 £1/2/5/10′ to 70070.
