ALFIE 8/04/07

Alfie - was definitely on the put to sleep list in a Yorkshire pound. Some angel was watching over him, and he managed to be brought down to Rain Rescue. He was very poorly with kennel cough - it made him so ill - but all the time - he was just such a happy soul - never happier than when he had a ball in his mouth.
Alfie's new family took one look at his photo and knew he was the one for them. They drove a fair way to come and meet him and were surprised just how calm and friendly he was. To think - this gorgeous friendly affectionate little chappie would have been killed - just cos there are too many dogs.
He had a new ball and new mates to play with and he is one off headed for a lifelong happy home.
Thanks you

     POPPY

I am writing this update on behalf of my dear friend Heather who adopted Poppy in Spring 2007.

Poppy was one of three rescue dogs adopted by Heather within a relatively short period of time. Heather has spent much time building up her trust and confidence in humans which had been so badly destroyed by her previous life; along with that of her two brothers Scooby and Rupert.

Heather shows a selfless devotion to her dogs which makes me proud to call her a friend. She has rescued dogs for many years and always goes for the older animal that nobody would look twice at, the dog with the toughest health problem, or the one with a face that only a mother would love; and love them she does.

Poppy is the most recent of many lucky dogs to have been welcomed into Heather’s home and heart  over the years, and, I am sure she wont be the last.

On behalf of all your beloved dogs past and present Thanks Mum.
