What to do if you need to rehome your pet

Rain Rescue exists for the animal who has nobody else.

We understand people’s circumstances do change and sometimes it is necessary for people to rehome their beloved pets.

Here at Rain Rescue we are who have no one else to care for them, this means as a charity our priority are the dogs in local authority stray kennels and cats living on the streets. We can offer help to pet owners needing to rehome a pet by getting in touch with our welfare team through the Request to Rehome form.

We operate a waiting list for both dogs and cats in need of a rescue space and ask that you contact us at the earliest possible opportunity. The time it takes to secure a rescue space is dependant on both urgency of need and space at the centre.

Please don’t abandon your pet, this is extremely dangerous and leaves their fate unknown, it also means they may enter rescue with no information making it even harder to find them a loving home. NEVER advertise your pet as free to good home.

We also recommend contacting Blue Cross Sheffield on 0300 777 1591 to discuss other rehoming options.
